Rockstar Spotlight of The Month: Bloom Daily Planners' Founders

This month's PMD Rockstar Spotlight features not one but two trailblazing rockstars, Kaylyn and Michelle! These two boss babes have nurtured their company from what started as a small seed to a brand that's loved by many hearts across the nation!

With their love for all things planners and the belief of the stepping stone such products create, Kaylyn and Michelle have designed a solution that's inspirational, thoughtful and impactful for many women! Read below to learn more about these rockstars and their paths that have led them to pursue their dreams!

Kaylyn:

The journey to chasing my dreams:
I have always been a go-getter. I think I was the only Freshman that attended the University of Delaware Career Fair. Everyone was looking for graduating seniors but I was ready to get some experience! This is where I earned my first sales internship. I gained some great sales and customer service experience but I was more intrigued by my Operations Management classes and wanted to explore that route. I started interning with bloom’s sister company as an Operations Intern and the rest is history! This is where I met Michelle and bloom was born. We had the opportunity to be intrapreneurs within the company and create our dream jobs. It all started with a mission to help women live more fulfilling lives and this is something we will always stand behind. Since creating our first basic planners we have expanded our line tremendously by putting our hearts into each and every product to help women become the best versions of themselves. I am so proud to have even a small impact on so many amazing women’s lives.

“Own The Moment” signifies to me:
It is so easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of everyday life. We are inundated with so much information and must do all the things and do them well. Sometimes you just need to stop and be fully present. I struggle with this. I have a million things on my mind and love to multi-task but that is not always serving me. I may be missing the moment, the experience, the lesson. So slow down, soak it in and own the moment because we all know the saying "the present is a gift”. <3

The journey to chasing my dreams:
I feel most successful when I'm making others happy. At our recent retreat, we all picked one word that embodied us when we were at our very best, and I chose the word "helper." I really do love to help others. Having that goal of being a helper as my mental compass has helped me chase my dreams to make the world a better place. When a customer tells us how a product we created has changed their life, when a store partner is thrilled with our products’ sales, and seeing our team’s excitement when they set and achieve big goals - those are my most favorite moments. My advice on how to chase your dreams is to focus on how you want to FEEL and make decisions that come from that feeling. It will help guide you in the right direction!
"Own The Moment" signifies to me:
To me "Own The Moment" means to be where your feet are. Life is very busy and there is so much pressure on women these days to have and do it all. I am a doer by nature, so sometimes I struggle to turn the mental to-do lists off and RELAX. There will always be more to do, and there will always be an area of your life that you feel is “lacking.” If everything at work is going well, there is probably a pile of laundry at home. If you’re spending a lot of time with friends and family, you probably behind on your gym routine. I (try to!) strive for balance, but not let it stress me out and take me out of the moment that I'm in.
